Literally me
Well, that escalated quickly.
This is my art, posted without attribution. In fact, the watermark leading back to my blog has been cropped out. This grainy, rehosted image has been reblogged over 25,000 times now.
Don’t do this, guys. It’s shitty. Believe it or not, artists don’t just draw for fun, we do it to pay bills and feed ourselves. It’s actually MORE work to edit art and rehost it to make it look like you made it. Don’t be a dick. Link back to artists.
Adam Ellis is a pretty rad guy with pretty rad comics who shouldn’t get shitted on by people like this. In the advancement of google images and tineye, its easy to find the source of all comics/art/anything that you directly did not create yourself. If you post something that isn’t yours and can’t find the artist, you’re not an ass for posting it and asking if anybody knows who created it. You’re an ass if you post it with no intention of crediting the proper artists just so you can get followers. Also, sourcing yourself is a straight dickhole move when its not yours. If you love someone’s art, respect that person enough to share their link, dude. They need the traffic, the likes, the follows, the audience. Its a LIVELIHOOD to them. Not a popularity contest.
So if you think this comic strip is hilarious (which i did, of course) then you should like, and reblog Adam’s original post here.
