and many more tbaPromoter /Sage Restaurant, Fiesere MieseDer überwiegende Teil Westafrikas ist geprägt von Armut, Krankheit und Perspektivlosigkeit. Aus dem Bedürfnis, dauerhaft und direkt helfen zu wollen, wurde im Oktober 2003 der Sage Hospital e.V. gegründet. Dieser hat die Patenschaft für ein Krankenhaus im Senegal übernommen. Damit macht er es sich für zehn Jahre zur Hauptaufgabe, dieses instandzusetzen, zu erhalten und zu erweitern.
Hinter dem Projekt steht eine für diese Art der direkten humanitären Hilfe ungewöhnliche Konstellation von Partnern. Von zwei Flugbegleiterinnen angeregt, sorgen neben diversen Privatpersonen vor allem junge Leute aus der Berliner Clubszene für die gesamte Durchführung der Vorhaben. Alle am Projekt Beteiligten arbeiten ehrenamtlich und ohne jeglichen finanziellen Gewinn. Allle auftretenden Künstler verzichten auf ihre Gagen.
Dadurch fließt der gesamte Erlös direkt in den Senegal. Der Regierende Bürgermeister von Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, hat die Schirmherrschaft für die Eventreihe übernommen.
